• The Chairman of Asharqia Chamber: "Haramain Railway" is an honorable cultural interface for the Kingdom and a true translation for its active role in serving pilgrims

    The Chairman of the Board of Asharqia Chamber, Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Khalidi, stated, “Haramain Railway, which was inaugurated by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz in Tuesday, September 25, 2018, is a civilized interface of the Kingdom and a real translation of its active role in the service of the two holy mosques and their pilgrims from various parts of the world.”
    He added that it strengthens the national options for the Kingdom's progress in the World Bank's performance index for logistics.
    He also expressed his great pride in such a project with national and Islamic values.

    Al-Ammar confirmed that the giant project has received international attention since the launch of its first stages until its opening yesterday for being one of the largest public transport projects with a length of more than 450 km and a capacity for nearly 60 million passengers annually.
    It also provides a fast, safe and efficient means of transport in the face of the growing number of pilgrims from outside and inside the Kingdom, which relieves pressure and congestion on the roads between Mecca and Medina, Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City.
    It is also providing comfort and safety, as the first fully electric train in the Middle East.
    He thanks the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Crown Prince for their unlimited support for national projects in general and transport projects in particular, and to the Minister of Transport Dr.Nabil bin Mohammed Al Amoudi, and the head of the Public Transport Authority Dr. Rmeih bin Mohammed Al Rumaih, for their great efforts to complete this giant project.

    AlKhalidi pointed out to the positive effects reflected by the start of the entry of Haramain Railway operational service next October on the economic movement in the country that to generate more investment opportunities in the support services to the business sector, especially from small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as more to provide opportunities for employment for the national labor forces.
    He pointed out that the bet today on the economic sectors with qualitative and distinct investments, which create more investment opportunities and functional at the same time.
    He stressed that the train of the two holy mosques is a qualitative leap towards the development of the transport sector in the Kingdom that supports the development of small and medium sectors, and contributes to making the country a cultural landmark that enhances the Kingdom's status at home and abroad.
